I really wanted to like these. And well, if I didn’t know what real chocolate chip cookies tasted like, I probably would. As with a lot of gluten free products, it’s the texture that stands out. In this case, in a bad way.

These are soft, actually a little light but gritty. They’re just missing that soft slightly chewy texture of real cookies. And since that’s almost a textbook description of what gluten adds to things, it’s to be expected. But of course, that’s what I’m off in search of: The gluten free products that get past that hurdle of texture.

So, if you’ve been gluten free your whole life, these are pretty decent cookies. But, if you know what the glutenous ones taste and feel like, then these can’t compare.
