Holy crap! Gluten free Oreos!

I got pretty excited when I spotted these on my latest trip to Whole Foods. I had to give them a try as soon as I got home. Now, a disclaimer, I haven’t had real Oreos in a long time. My memory of them may be more flattering than the product actually warrants.

With that said, these match up pretty well. The filling is a little gritty and chalky. I seem to remember Oreo filling being softer and sort of creamy. Because of this when I tried to twist it apart, I was left with crumbly stuff on both sides. The picture came out terribly so I didn’t post it. Not the end of the world.. just prevents some childhood nostalgia.

Next big test… the dunk in milk test. Here’s where these shine. They soak up milk like Oreos and that milk helps out the filling. I’d say they’re damn near the same as real Oreos when dipped in milk in terms of taste and texture.
